Criteria
You are eligible as soon as you start your studies at the University of Helsinki. You do not need to submit any kind of application for the grant as the grantees are selected on the basis of their application file. Selection focuses on the quality of your previous studies as well as your motivation level expressed on your application for admission. An effort is made to award the grant to an international student of limited means with no other grants or scholarships.

All awarded students receive information on their nomination as grantees with the letter of acceptance.

To receive the payment, you have to accept placement at the University of Helsinki as well as to enrol and register for attendance. Moreover, you are demanded to draw up the personal study plan (HOPS) during the first period of your studies. In addition, you have to have your plan accepted by your department as well as to start your studies according to the plan.

You have to satisfy all the requirements above, otherwise the grant can be withdrawn.

Grants Ceremony
The University of Helsinki International Student Grants are awarded at the Rector’s Reception for International Scholars and Students arranged in November each year.

Further information on UHISG and the application process is available from the Admissions Services through admissions@helsinki.fi only.

No tuition fees

Finnish universities have no tuition fees for regular degree students - education is subsidised by the State through the Ministry of Education. This also applies to the international degree students and to exchange and visiting students as well.

Student Union fee
The Student Unions of the various universities, however, charge an annual membership fee to cover their activities. At the University Helsinki, the fee is c. €75 for the 2008-2009 academic year. Student health care contribution is included in this fee.

Please note that the health care contribution is not health insurance; it allows students to use the student health care facilities provided by FSHS (Finnish Student Health Service). The Student Union membership is obligatory for undegraduate and graduate students (i.e. those studying for their Bachelor’s or Master’s degrees). Postgraduate (Licentiate and PhD) students may join the Student Union if they wish. The International Student Services pay the fee for exchange student (coming to Helsinki through an exchange porgramme or agreenment). For health insurance information related to non-EU/EEA (third-country) citizens , see the Insurances Web page.

Estimated cost of living
All degree students have to pay for their books and other study materials as well as their accommodation and living expenses. The International Student Services pay the accomodation costs for exchange students. The total monthly living expenses of a single student average from €600 to €900 - depending on your spending habits.

The rent in a student dormitory and residence hall varies from €190 to €350 a month (in a single room). The rent for a family flat ranges from €450 to €859 a month.

Student status, and especially the Student Union membership, entitles students to various services at affordable prices as well as to an abundance of student discounts

Scholarships for international MSc students at University of Copenhagen, Denmark
http://socialsciences.ku.dk/programmes/dokument/scholarship/

Scholarships for international MSc students from non-EU/EEA countries
The Danish government has made a limited number of scholarships available to international Master's degree students from non-EU/EEA students. These scholarships are substantial in size; the scholarship consists of a full tuition fee waiver and a monthly allowance for a total of 22 months.

The criterion for the awarding of the scholarships is academic excellence. In order to demonstrate your academic competence, you must write an essay of max. three pages in which you pose a scientific question related to Economics - Microeconomics, Macroeconomics and/or Econometrics - and outline a solution. This essay must be written for this specific purpose, and must not form part of anything previously submitted by you or others to any institution. The essay should be submitted honestly, in good faith and in accordance with the "Disciplinary measures towards students at the University of Copenhagen".

Please note that you cannot rely on this scholarship, as you have to pay tuition fee within the deadline.

Deadlines for applications:
1 February and 1 June

Please send your application to Malene Egemark Clausen at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Copenhagen University, Øster Farimagsgade 5, 1353 Copenhagen K, Denmark.

http://web.mit.edu/sma/students/programmes/mst.htm

Graduate Fellowship

Singapore-MIT Alliance Objectives
SMA is an unparalleled and exciting distance-technology enabled educational and research opportunity – a compelling new value proposition – that attracts and retains the very best engineering and life sciences graduate students and researchers from across Asia. SMA develops talented human capital for Singapore’s industries, universities, and research establishments; provides a platform and vehicle for organizational and institutional learning that will raise the general level of all partner institutions; creates world-class educational programs and high-impact research initiatives in areas crucial to the growth of the Singapore economy; and fosters strong academia-industry-Research Institute collaborations, providing the basis for an enduring and viable partnership. SMA is characterized by quality, diversity, integrity, commitment, and service – both to Singapore and to the global knowledge community.

Graduate Fellowship Program
Students who receive a SMA Graduate Fellowship will receive full support for tuition, stipend and travel. The students will be eligible, depending upon the programme they are accepted into, for the following degrees: an MIT Masters and an NUS/NTU Masters; an MIT Masters and an NUS/NTU PhD; or an NUS/NTU PhD.

Eligibility
SMA has established a rigorous screening process to ensure that only the most able applicants become SMA Graduate Fellows.

The following conditions apply:

Only applicants who will have received a Bachelor’s degree by the time that a programme’s academic year commences are eligible. Applications will also be accepted from students who have already received a Bachelor’s degree.

Only applicants who have been independently and separately admitted to both MIT and NUS/NTU are eligible. Applications will be accepted from students who are awaiting confirmation of admission into each of these universities.

Evidence of past accomplishments, academic potential, leadership potential, the potential for producing innovative research, creativity, and moral and ethical values are some of – but not exclusively – the characteristics that the Fellowship committee will consider.
Requirements
In addition to your application, you must submit:

A one-to-three page summary explaining your aspirations for applying for an SMA Graduate Fellowship, what you intend to do upon completion of your studies, and your future career goals. Please include your name (family name in capital letters first, followed by given name in lower-case letters) in the top right corner of each page.

When received, you must send a copy of your acceptance letter from MIT to the Singapore-SMA Office (located at N3.2-01-36, 65 Nanyang Avenue, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore 637460).

Princeton Engineering ให้ทุนนักศึกษา M.S/Ph.D. ทุกคนที่เข้าได้
http://engineering.princeton.edu/graduate/support

GRADUATE FINANCIAL SUPPORT

Every Princeton Engineering Ph.D. and M.S.E. student receives full funding; in addition to a stipend, Ph.D. students are guaranteed a first-year fellowship from the University while M.S.E. students receive teaching and/or research assistantships. This level of support continues throughout the program, assuming progress is satisfactory.

What GRE scores do I need to be accepted?

There are no strict cutoffs or quotas pertaining to GRE scores and admission. Averages are reported in some university publications and media such as US News & World Report. The majority of scores for recently admitted students were > 550 on the Verbal and > 700 on the Quantitative, with specific results varying across departments and programs. Again, however, GREs are just one aspect of the application that are considered, so please do not let scores you perceive to be low discourage you from applying, as strengths in other areas can and regularly do compensate.
In addition, the Computer Science department strongly recommends a subject GRE test – please see the COS department’s Web site for more information.

Johns Hopkins Computer Science ให้ Financial Aid 100% กับ นศ. Ph.D.
http://www.cs.jhu.edu/grad-prog-faq/index

Financial Aid

Q: What are my odds of getting financial aid if I am admitted to the PhD program?

A: Basically 100%. There are occasional exceptions where people are already in the area and do not require financial aid for various reasons. Since we do not have to fund such students, their applications are given a slight preference. So, if you have reasons not to seek financial aid, please indicate so on your application.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: What kind of financial aid will I get?

A: Nearly all first-year PhD students in the department are given teaching assistantships (TA). A few students are given fellowships, and a few start directly as research assistants (RA). By their third year, nearly all students are supported by an RA-ship from an individual professor.
